Well, I did except I built up Green first as I had 1 Yellow and 1 Orange so I traded them off, 1 each, to 2 other players. My bro landed on North Carolina sooo often he started setting rent aside for the hotel lol

So I played Monopoly earlier tonight, and it was on a new board. They changed the money denominations so we went with the old way. I ended up winning after bankrupting 3 others lol

That’s probably the one best house rule to have that doesn’t totally ruin the game’s natural balance and play time. Some rules make the game last forever or turn into a “whoever wins is the guy who lands on free parking” deal.

I’ve played with all of those house rules before too. I think they are the most common, especially the free parking get money one.

Usually when I play, the only house rule I end up using is the free parking one. Any money that gets paid to the ban goed in the middle and if you land on Free Parking, you get it all. Other than that, I can’t remember ever playing by any special rules.

lmao at those rules.

Rules I play by usually are:
-No buying until you make it around the board once
-Unless otherwise stated, all money from cards or bail goes to the middle
-Middle always has $500 and is replaced everytime it’s won
-Anyone who lands on FP wins the money
-If someone misses their turn, too bad. They gotta wait until everyone else goes
-If someone doesn’t realize someone owes them rent before the next dice roll then their loss

I think that’s pretty much it tho lol

Wow. Yeah, strategies don’t help much with rules like that. My favorite house rule is, “Everyone with 8 letters in their first name gets $1,000 for passing Go.” I tend to win a lot with that one.
