Nintendo still has plenty of reasons to be proud of their pipe-traveling Italian mascot. Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold over 10 million copies in just a little over two months after being released. New Super Mario Bros. Wii has become the fastest selling Wii game in Japan. It probably won’t be long before it earns that title worldwide.
With New Super Mario Bros. Wii outselling Mario Galaxy, it just goes to show you that 2D platformers are far from dead.

Haven’t played it yet but it seems ok. Not sure about the multiplayer tho, looks like it may be a bit much with the ‘killing your partners’ bit.
Though this article does give me a good idea on something to write about….

I plan on getting it really soon. I think as long as the multiplayer isn’t the only way to play it, I’m happy. After you beat the game and everything, the multiplayer gives it a lot more replay value. I’m sure it changed the experience quite a bit.

I can just imagine how frustrated kids get with each other over the whole “hey stop moving you’re killing me!” thing. Still, that’s fine with me. I’ve been wanting a co-op Mario for years and years. This will be the next Wii game I buy.

Oh, I agree on the replay value and I’m the type who’d purposely get my friends killed lol.
If I still had a Wii I’d buy it just for side scroller, 2d nostalgia reasons.
