While writing our recent article on Monopoly strategy, I began thinking of where to play Monopoly online. Without further ado, this is what I found.
GtKAtlantic is a free and open source Monopoly clone. As shown below, it has a nice clean interface and online multiplayer abilities by using the Monopd servers or on a local area network. Check out their web site for more information and downloads.
Galactic Magnate is a space themed online variant of Monopoly. The rules are changed to reduce the impact of luck. You play against other humans online only, so no whipping up on computer opponents here. And best of all, it’s free to play!
And finally, the easiest way to play the game of Monopoly online with your friends is at Pogo.com. Sign up for a free account and you can play the new Monopoly: Here & Now World Edition with 3 computers or 3 people. A very slick-looking game, it also has built-in chat and the option to choose your own house rules.

After reading your other article, I’ve been in the mood for a good game of Monopoly. I’m going to try one of these out right now. Which one do you think is the best?

Pop seemed to be the nicest looking one for me. But I couldn’t play. It said, “Asking host if you can join.” But he never let me in I guess, because it stayed on that screen for 5-10 minutes before I gave up.

I’d be up for a game some time. Joe, hopefully you just had a bad host that time.

So does this mean that I’m invited as well?
I’ll take that as a yes:D
