Possible Leaked Information On Zelda Wii

Months ago, Nintendo revealed that they are working on a new Zelda game for the Wii. All that we had to go on was a concept image of a swordless Link and an unknown female character. Many people have made speculations about who this new character is, from the Great Fairy Queen to her being some sort of incarnation of the Master Sword.

What we do know for certain to be truth:

  • The game will diverge from the established dungeon-field-dungeon gameplay style.
  • This Link will be older than any of the previous Links.

Rumors have recently been circulating around the internet about some new leaked information about the upcoming title. These rumors apparently originated from 2chan.net, a popular Japanese site much like 4chan. The site has been known for leaking real information about popular games in the past. Right now, this information has yet to be verified as truth.

Take a look and decide for yourself.

  • The girl on the Zelda Wii picture is not the Master Sword, and as of now there are no plans for Link to get the Master Sword in the game. Her name is Aderu, and she’s not your typical companion like Navi or Midna, in that she’s rarely there with you.
  • Your sword will come with different unlockable abilities.
  • Aderu uses to communicate with you through your sword.
  • You can select whether you’re right or left-handed, and Link will be the same.
  • The basic mechanics and gameplay elements are finished, and they’re currently building the story, dungeons and developing characters. Among them are an innkeeper in the town where Link lives and her son, who idolizes Link.
  • Horseback combat is back, with a more intelligent Epona that is better at avoiding obstacles.
  • The character models for Link, Epona, and the Gorons have all been modified and touched up, but they’re the only ones.
  • The game will not only take place in Hyrule (maybe not even Hyrule at all).
  • This Link is the same Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.
  • The game involves time travel.

As much as I’d love it to be true, I think this is fake.  I just have a hard time believing that this game will feature The Hero of Time. So please, take this information with a grain of salt until Nintendo verifies it to be the truth.

I would love for it to all be true. OoT Link is my favorite of them all. The only downside is, if it involves him, it probably won’t shed much light on the timeline.

I’m a huge Zelda n00b. There are multiple Links? It’s not all the same guy?

Yes, there are many different Links. The games take place within centuries of each other. Some games have the same Link while others do not. Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask had the same Link. Wind Waker & Phantom Hourglass had the same Link. They are reincarnations of previous heroes named Link.

Nintendo hasn’t ever stated what order the games take place in chronologically, so it’s fun to play the games and try to figure it out based on subtle clues. Personally, I don’t even think Nintendo knows for sure what the order is. lol

Interesting, the change in formula is dangerous but potentially refreshing. I await eagerly. Oh, and give us the horse, not a boat or a train, a horse is fine.

Lewis I totally agree, I’m sick of them throwing stupid things in the mix.
I agree with new things, just don’t make them sucky:D

I haven’t played Spirit Tracks yet, but based on where it’s placed in the timeline, (200 years after Ocarina of Time) it seems a little early for a train. The first two games for the NES supposedly take place after it, and they don’t have trains or anything, and actually seem to be centuries behind it. Maybe I need to rethink my timeline. Oh that’s right, Nintendo doesn’t think about that stuff.

Zelda games kick major ***. I really dont think much of a timeline anymore because if you ask me they dont have one they just made a killer videogame hoping no one would ask about one. And now everyones talking about so they feel screwed. But overall..in my opinion timeline or not its still a good series.

Hopefully some of these come true, reminds me a bit like Majora’s mask, and if it is like Majora’s mask, expect everyone to be bitchy about it, where as I will be in zelda heaven.
