How many of you read the terms and conditions of a sale when buying goods online? Well apparently, chances are most of us don’t bother with them. Now it seems that one company has taken advantage of this for their own amusement. UK based video game retailer, Gamestation has claimed over 7,500 souls. Yes, you read that right, souls.
GameStation added the “immortal soul clause” to online purchases earlier this month stating customers granted them the right to claim their soul. While all shoppers during the test were given a simple tick box option to opt out, very few did this, which would have also rewarded them with a £5 voucher. The store claims this shows 88 percent of people do not read the terms and conditions of a website before they make a purchase. Bosses also say they will not be enforcing their rights and will now email customers nullifying any claim on their soul.

well in a way it was GAME, since GAME bought out Gamestation a few years back, but kept it as Gamestation, makes me feel bad that when i buy a game from Gamestation my money goes into GAME’s pocket.

GAME and Gamestation sound like Gamestop and EBGames over here. Gamestop bought out EBGames a few years back. But all the EBGames around here are now Gamestops. I don’t know if it’s that way everywhere though.

We have gamestop over here, they just aren’t very big at all. I’ve only ever saw one gamestop store in my life. It was really expensive too.

oh come on liam you thought i didnt know game owned gamestation, what do you take me for!
all i know is that i still see gamestation as the nice side of the company and GAME as the evil side. That could be because i have a bit of a thing for a girl in my local gamestation though!
and dont even get me started on where i see CEX in this whole debate too lol

haha well you’d be suprised at how many people don’t know that.
CEX annoy me, well mainly the Staff. most of the stores I’ve been into, the staff all seem to be angst filled emo teens, the males are so full of themselfs and the girls…well i feel kinda sorry for the female staff members, I once heard a bunch of guys who worked there, telling her “she doesn’t know anything about games because of her gender and shouldn’t get involved in their “hardcore” debate”
