  • Nintendo At E3: Day 1 0 CommentsPosted by Joseppi on June 15, 2010 under Editorials, Games, News, Previews
I already gave you a look at The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but that was just the beginning of the many treats the Big N had in store for us. I hear they're teaming up with Activision and Retro Studios to bring us a couple of sequels to some Rare gems from the 90's. Mario Sports Mix We've seen numerous sports games in the past staring Mario and friends. From tennis, golf, soccer, basketball... more.
  • E3 The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword 4 CommentsPosted by Joseppi on under Editorials, Games, News, Previews
Skyward Sword relies heavily on the Wii Motion Plus attachment for the Wii Remote. The remote is your sword while the nunchuck is your shield. So you must position yourself as if you are actually holding a sword and shield. You shake the remote to draw your sword and shake the nunchuck to draw your shield. Whichever way you hold the remote, Link will hold his sword. Fighting Deku Babas is a little... more.

Bodycount Bodycount is from the designer of Black, a PS2 and Xbox game I (sadly) missed out on. The game has a humourous side to it, the gameplay footage has a light-hearted nature thanks to the disembodied voice you hear as you play through (“your life expectancy has suddenly dropped”). The enemies are “class-based,” meaning different enemies are basically designed with different functio... more.
  • Microsoft at E3: Kinect Games Preview 0 CommentsPosted by Jonathan on under Editorials, Games, News, Previews
To say that Microsoft went all out this year at the E3 Expo is probably an understatement. Rather than just telling us the new name of "Project Natal", they hired Cirque du Soleil to put on a custom 45-minute show, which took months of planning and included 76 performers. If you've never been to a Cirque du Soleli, let me tell you, it is an unforgettable experience. And I imagine this is what M... more.
  • Driver 1999 3 CommentsPosted by little420247 on June 14, 2010 under Editorials, Games, News
This coming week, hundreds of new game titles will be unveiled at the E3 expo. Surprisingly, the title that caught my eye was Driver 1999. For those of you unfamiliar with the Driver series, here is a short rundown. You are Tanner, a wheelman for various crime syndicates. Tanner has the ability to drive, steal vehicles, and run from good old Johnny Law. Sound familiar? Driver 2 was an early precu... more.

  • A Great Week for Mortal Kombat 5 CommentsPosted by Joseppi on June 11, 2010 under Editorials, Featured, Games, News, Previews
This has been an exciting week for Mortal Kombat fans. On Tuesday, a video that seemed to be a trailer for a new MK movie was uploaded to YouTube by a user called MortalKombatRebirth. The almost 8-minute long trailer was like nothing we’ve ever seen in the Mortal Kombat universe before. It was a darker, more realistic with a Saw feel to it. The video starts out with officer Jackson “Jax” B... more.
  • DisneyQuest Review 0 CommentsPosted by Jonathan on June 4, 2010 under Editorials, Featured, Games, Reviews
My girlfriend and I visited Disney Quest recently in Orlando, FL. I've wanted to visit this place for years after hearing that it's one of the best arcades within a thousand miles from where I live. We've seen a decline in arcades since the 90s. I believe this is because of the powerful home consoles we now have that rival the power of arcade machines. So does Disney Quest bring back that old f... more.
  • A Defense of Video Game Piracy 2 CommentsPosted by admin on June 1, 2010 under Editorials, Featured, Games
I'm a PC gamer. And as such, I will admit that I have pirated games before. The common view of the pirate is wrong, I believe. The common conception of the pirate is someone who just downloads every new game and they rarely, if ever, buy a game (admittedly, these are the most vocal pirates). However, I believe there are valid reasons to download. Piracy allows me to enjoy out of print games. Pe... more.
  • The Evolution of Handheld Video Games 5 CommentsPosted by Bonemeal on May 26, 2010 under Editorials, Featured, Games
In this article, we take a look back at how video games have evolved into what we know and enjoy today. We've come a long way, baby! The Handheld Battle It seems so long ago, but in the 8-bit era we were lucky to have the LCD dot-matrix Game Boy. No one was crazy about monochrome, but it worked. The competition's handheld gaming used a static, painted backdrop. We saw pre-molded LCD caricatur... more.
