I’m just 17 days late. (My IGN watch list didn’t inform me. >:( )

As of March 11th,  Deus Ex 3 was renamed Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
And a new trailer was released.

It kind of scares me that Square Enix owns Eidos
And both Warren Spector and Harvey Smith aren’t involved.

I’m crossing my fingers though.

I've never played any Deus Ex game but I know many who feel like it is one of the best series ever. I'm more of a multiplayer-shooter guy so I don't pay much attention to story-heavy single player shooters like Bioshock and such.

You’re limiting yourself.

It’s like eating steak flavored potato chips instead of steak one may be faster and simpler but it’s not the same.

Well, I've tried playing some of the more epic ones, like Half-Life and Bioshock, but I was bored by both of them. Confused

I guess you just must have a short attention span or you need instant gratification.  No offence.

That’s the first one, liberty island was the most boring level of the game.

Halo’s a good game, good solid FPS.

That's like saying "you must be afraid of your feelings" to someone because they don't like romance novels. You can't accurately guess someone's personality traits just because they don't like Bioshock, lol.

I just don't like most single-player games in general. Gaming is a social activity for me. I rarely play any single-player games. If Bioshock had a co-op mode, I'd be all for it. When I'm alone, I prefer working on my hobbies or reading books.

I used to like single-player games when I was younger. It's no coincidence that I was also a big fan of RPGs at the time. I would have loved a game like Bioshock back then. But nowadays, I don't like games like Bioshock, and not surprisingly I don't like most RPGs either. It's somewhat of a shame, because there are many RPGs that sound wonderful, like KOTOR, but when I play them they don't hold my interest.

I like Halo because of the multiplayer. Though I must say, even the single-player campaign is more interesting to me than Bioshock. ;)

I'm glad you brought this up. I just realized something. Many years ago I gave up gaming for about 6 months. It no longer interested me. I thought that I was outgrowing it, perhaps. But when I look back on it now, I realize it was because I didn't have online gaming or many local gaming friends to play with anymore. So naturally my interest went down. Once I got in touch with more gaming friends and online gaming, my interest in video games shot back up.

I felt the same way about Deux Ex as you did about Bioshock, all the praise Deux Ex gets still confuses me. There was just nothing about it that grabbed my attention at all, it just felt thoroughly empty and dull.

It's been ages since I last played it, but I remember that Liberty Island level being really awful. Don't think I could be bothered continuing for too far after that.
