Great Topic!
I love Video game soundtracks, I bought the Okami 5 disc OST whilst in Japan, beautifull music, really helps me relax.
apart from Okami;
Jet Set Radio/Jet Grind Radio – Dreamcast:
Not really a fan when it comes to band music in video games, but since noone knew who these bands were, and the fact all the songs were just so funky and fitted with the game's unique style so well, makes it awesome. SUPPPAAA BRUTHAAAA!
My Pick for JSR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..Fu7LFlaCCA - It's so funky! fit's in with skating around and spraying graffti all over the place.
The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask – Nintendo 64:
I could pick any zelda game and say "great ost!" but MM's stands out for me on so many level's, the music being a big part. It was just so dark, and epic…ah in fact im gonna go listen to some of it. plus Termia feild music made me want to bounce around. Plus Clock Town's Final hour's is creepy and depressing.IMO No game has ever able to create that atmosphere of a desperate race against time again.
My Pick for LOZ:MM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..rtBiHKI-Bg 11th Hour / Final Hour had to pick this.
Final Fantasy IX – Playstation 1:
Same as above, Any Final Fantasy game I could have picked, but not any FF game has "Over The Hill"
My Pick For FFIX – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..L0HVjyK4j8
Skies Of Arcadia/Skies Of Arcadia Legends – Dreamcast/Gamecube:
The music in this game makes me ears want to sex up the speakers. nuff said.
My Pick for SOA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..VFf5-mXRHo
Breath Of Fire III – PS1/PSP:
Gosh this game was epic and tough too. certain tracks in the game you can tell was inspired from classic RPG's such as Crono Trigger, which is never a bad thing.
My pick for BoF3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..vO4oOmVazQ
Alundra – Playstation 1:
I bet most haven't heard of this game, A zelda clone for the playstation 1, following the old schoold drop down view of the older Zelda games, Alundra was an underated gem, The story and gameplay AND music imo beat any zelda game hands down, Oddly enough Alundra's soundtrack was,for the most part, orchestered, which for a early released Playstation game with a low budget, is quite a feet.
My pick for Alundra – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..xloalBVCLE – just epic!
I best stop here before i end up spending another 45 mins going though my brain to think of soundtracks :P
