I decided to clean my PSP screen a little while ago, and damn if there wasn't a small grain of dirt or something on the cloth! My PSP screen is now scratched to the point of interfering with gameplay.
Anyone know how to take scratches off a plastic screen like that? Do I have to buy another PSP?

That sucks, in the future you should use a screen protector, you can get them on ebay for 1 cent with free shipping (I have many, even though I don’t have a PSP)
If it’s more of a scuff than a scratch try wiping it with vegetable oil, and then wiping it off, I’ve used it on old yard light solar panels that were scuffed.
If not look into replacing the screen, I saw they sell them on ebay for $25-$40, I don’t know what the procedure involves it could be easy it could be incredible hard to do.

I wouldn't object to the screen protectors, but I have no clue what brand(s) would be reliable. I know some screen protectors can leave a nastly residue behind when removed, and they can also bubble/blister.
I did follow your advice, and it worked! The scratches vanished. I am quite pleased.

Excellent! I’m glad it worked if the scratch shows up again swipe it again with oil.
The only screen protectors I have any real experience with are S&H brand they were the cheapest I could find for my X50v PDA. I got 12 for $3 with free shipping from HK they’re really good.
I wouldn’t worry SP brand much, rubbing alcohol should take any residue off, just buy SPs that actually have a brand name the nameless ones are much thinner in my experience.
