Got this email sent to me. Figured you all could use a good laugh.
In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.
The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
Pfizer Corp announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of 'cocktails', 'highballs' and just a good old-fashioned 'stiff drink'. Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: 'MOUNT & DO'.

Actually, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and etc refer to a specific drug that is used in many different medications – for example, ibuprofen is used in both advil and motrin, among other things.
Since I was curious, I wiki'd viagra, and apparently that is the marketed/generic name. Wiki begins with, "Sildenafil citrate, sold as Viagra," so.. Yeah.

Well, it's still quite clever, I say. I'm sure people know about different trade-names.
I am on Hydrocodone Bitartrate 7.5mg plus acetaminophen 325mg. So, basically, you could say I'm on "Vicodiin", "Norco", "Lortab", or "Annexia".
Likwise, oxycodone is often called "Percodan", "Percocet", "Percolone", "Roxicodone", "Roxacet", "Endocet", "Tylox", and "Oxylr".
Though, there are a few differences. Percodan and Roxicodone are just straight oxycodone, and contain no acetaminophen. (I know this from a couple trips to the emergency room some years back.)

Aye, quite a brilliant lass, indeed.
The sad part: the reason I know so damn much about narcotic painkillers is because over the last decade, I've taken everything in the spectrum. I hate that my memory is still quite faulty. This was due largely to being on 60mg MS Contin 3x daily. No professional has given me any straight answers as to whether or not I will regain full memory or not. Shit, I have to write things on my hands to remind me of this or that. I have to program the reminder on my cable box to remind me to watch the 10PM news. I have dozens of notebooks chock full of things I need to remember to do, say, and…whatever else.
Then, there's those little things, like 3 out of 5 times, I walk into the living room to sit down at my PC to look something up, and by the time I sit down, I've already forgotten what I was going to look up.
My sister told me that the Adderall XR 20mg I'm on now should stimulate receptors that correlate with memory recall.
[ADDED A LITTLE WHILE LATER]
I've been meaning to ask, the animated avatar with the pink-haired girl; is that the girl from Lazy Town? My nephew use to watch that…but it was on so bloody early in the morning, he'd just watch it on VHS…wow…VHS…so long ago…

Well, tah-rah-rah boom-de-yay. (I've been dying for an excuse to use that!) Actually, watching it with my nephew, I kinda got a kick out of it myself. The perfect marriage of people and puppets. (Puppets are always good. I like puppets.)
A pirate ye be? Well, yer gonna needs a proper pirate theme, arghh!

BTW, everyone should click on that. I discovered it a few years ago, and it's still one of my favorites…that and the guy who sang the Star Spangled Banner backwards.
