the black wiimote looks sexy.

I was looking at the Mario box the other day, thought it looked pretty retro and cool.

Last thing I bought was some smokes.

Persona Boxart

This was a bit of a gamble, I really like Persona 3 and 4 and I've started to try to get into the older entries into the Shin Megami Tensei series. However, Gamespot gave this remake/port a bad review. However, I have to say, the complaints in the review are rather shit. The dungeons are no more repetitive than the dungeons in Persona 3 (I would say they're much less repetitive) and the random encounter rate is not extraordinarily high. Negotiating with demons can either lengthen the battles but once you get the spell cards they really shorten the length of battle since showing spell cards to other demons of the same type results in them running away, and sometimes with the demons giving you money or items. The maps automap is always way too nice, it shows a lot more of the dungeons than I would expect.
My only complaints so far are the constant loading times and the imperfect controls. The Persona series seems to suffer from less than perfect controls when exploring the dungeons though. The battle system in this one is much more interesting. Each character can have a melee weapon, a gun, plus personae. When negotiating each characters has a different set of actions to use to interact with the demons. Finally, every character and monster, in battle, is on a grid. You can set up formations, but you need to take your weapon and spell ranges into consideration when you do this. You can change formations in battle and have 4 possible formations set-up at a time. Formations probably won't make or break you, but they do influence how you play.
I'm enjoying it, I'm glad Atlus felt like bundling the OST, like they did with Persona 4. This OST is two-discs this time around and is just as interesting.
I have a feeling I'll get more mileage out of this dungeon-crawl than I should a portable RPG. It's also weird to play a Persona game where the battle system does not actively hate the player (Persona 3 has a really rage-inducing battle system and Persona 4 is much better, but still a bit annoying).

The last game I bought was Assassin’s Creed limited edition (360) $24

shipped, and the seller threw in Haven (PS2) because I was asking if I

could buy it.

And this is also my 100th post!

I honestly can't remember. It might have been Tekken 6 or Motorstorm
2. It's been a little while, probably due to the fact that I got
insanely addicted to Demon's Souls a few months after buying it and just
submerged myself in playing that.

I'll tell you what the next game is going to be though: Red Dead
Redemption.

EDIT: Now I remember– It was God of War 3, which, like Heavy Rain, I
completed in bits and pieces while still playing Demons Souls.

Congrats on 100 posts.

I think the last game I bought was Legends of Wrestlemania for the
360. I'd really like to get Assassin's Creed, which is a gem I've missed
out on. My local gameshop is having a deal where you can trade games of
equal value, so maybe I'll hand in my extra copy of GTA4 for Assassin's
Creed.

I merged this thread with G.A.Pster's "What was the last game you bought" thread since they are pretty much the same thing.

My girlfriend and I bought a new gaming PC. It's pretty sweet! Worth the cost for us, since she has been doing a lot of gaming on her laptop but doesn't want to overuse it.

This should come in handy for Super Mario RPG and maybe Super Smash Bros. Brawl. As for Mario Kart Wii, I'll stick with the Wiimote and Nunchuck.
